For the third time, my dependable colleague Mohan is about to lose his job. He’s a decent man who is, naturally, devoted and diligent. However, he is about to lose his job once more. Well, he has informed only me about this “firing business” of his.
He attributes all of this chaos to fate and the Karma cycle. He might decide to go to a temple and make sacrifices to the gods. But will it really be any use? No, of course not! While believing in God and the law of Karma is a good thing, it’s best to save your faith and karma for the afterlife in this world of fierce competition. How, then, can Mr. Mohan escape the tangled web of Karma or his flimsy belief in God, which keeps him from being fired?
1. Come out of your emotions—I myself am a sentimental person. As long as it is not a medical condition, being emotionally unstable is not a bad thing; in fact, these people are good, compassionate people. However, holding on to your emotions for too long can ruin your personal life. You can cry while watching TV, you can feel bad about mass killings in wars, and you can feel bad for the homeless children, but keep it inside your bedroom. Play carefully when using emotions or feelings in offices as they can have unintended consequences. You can apologize, but you don’t have to put up with it. Offer an apology without stirring up negative emotions.
2. Keep your complaints to a minimum – If you consider yourself to be an adult, then you should refrain from complaining frequently unless it is absolutely necessary about the workplace or other people’s behavior. Your competitors always want you to complain. Complainers are absolutely not liked by your boss. Your boss may claim that he does this because he likes to keep himself informed about the working environment, but they are really just a pain in the neck. Therefore, before going to your manager if you are having a problem with anyone or anything, try to resolve it yourself. Additionally, you need to be wary of complainers because they can ruin your job and career. You should make an effort to keep complainers close if you are wise enough.
3. You can’t get out of your job; you already know that. Do your job and bring whatever you can, whether it’s clever or hard work. No matter how bad things get, your accomplishments will always speak for you.
4. Be Mr. Punctual – Corporate survival requires strict military discipline. Fingers will be pointed at you if you are late. Your manager or boss won’t like the fact that you’ll be known as a spoiler.
5. Try not to attract tags, Mr. Dramatic Queen, Bad Boy, Revolutionary, Mr. That’s incorrect, Mr. Rude, Lover Boy, Psycho, Sycophant, etc., are the few tags that every employee should always try to avoid. The most effective defense against these tags is your inner voice or sense.
6. Keep “fire” anxiety at bay – Handling “Fire” Your personality and your emotional state can affect your anxiety. Not everyone treats it delicately, but some people do. Engaging in your hobbies during your downtime is the best way to combat anxiety. Put your dreams of doing your dream job into action. Never abandon your dreams.
Well, I’ve already made reference to my esteemed colleague Mr. Tell Mohan about these ideas. If you’d like, wish him luck.
